High Fives From Memphis...
While Marron and I were outside having a discussion about life, this guy comes up to us to give us high fives and make sure we were alright. He seemed to think we were arguing, but we definitely weren't lol. We just love insightful conversation! After about the third thing he said to us, his incredibly thick accent was revealed. It was hard to tell at first because he was obviously drunk, but I realized he was southern. I then asked him where he was from and he said Memphis, TN. I turned to Marron and said high fives from Memphis!

Updates And Thank you's!
Wow, it has been a crazy couple of weeks! I went to Westchester last Friday to start recording with my good friend Dave Rosenberg and we put down the duet track of "Soon it's Gonna Be Summer" that I wrote!!! I'm incredibly excited to be working more with him on laying down different tracks and laying down proper tracks finally!
Wednesday, I was able to perform at The Stonewall Inn to help get a new original of mine heard. It was a great experience and I always feel pretty welcome there. They had me as a guest artist at The Stonewall Sensation competition, which I love coming back to watch each season.
Now, last night's show.....I had sooooo much fun! I absolutely love the venue there! It has an amazing vibe and the sound system was great. I honestly felt at ease playing up there! Performing in front of people is an amazing experience and I just know that performing is what I am meant to be doing with my life. I wouldn't want to do anything else. Also, I want to thank Mike for playing with me last minute!!! Mike is an amazing guitarist and he saved my life by doing this show with me!
I want to thank the fans as well! Oh my goodness gracious great balls of fire! If it wasn't for all of you, I'd be nothing. Thank you all so much for your love and support. Just knowing that people have faith in me and my music feels absolutely amazing. I don't know what I'd do without all of you. I love you all and I am truly blessed to have so many people that support me!
P.s.....Video footage will coming soon!!!
The next show is October 23rd @ The Recoup Lounge @ 8pm!!!

Music is truth....Truth is vulnerability.
Every moment I witness or live, I tend to jot down on paper. I write what I feel, I sing what I write, I access this stage of vulnerability that most hold inside. Vulnerability is a gift and a blessing that we shouldn't be afraid of. Unfortunately, society teaches us to quote and quote "be strong." We mustn't cry or let people know we can feel. We must build a wall around our hearts and guard each breath like it's our last. Never get hurt.
I disagree with what society tries to teach us. Live your life and take chances. You will never love if you're never hurt. You will never be able to win if you can't lose. I learned the hard way that I needed to stop feeding into the judgement and the fake part of this world. I decided to be me....to finally show the world who I am and be exactly what I want to be, rather than what others want me to be. I am me...and you can get to know me through my music. I'm not another pop song, but I could write another pop song. I write through tears, through fear, through love, and loss... and still hope to be accepted. Will I necessarily be? No. Instead, I want to be real. I want to be noticed as an artist who is willing to write with her heart.
I understand that not everyone wants to listen to something truly emotional and vulnerable because it can be uncomfortable to witness what another feels. I write truth and sing honestly. This is me reaching out to others....letting the world know that's ok to be vulnerable. You don't have to be afraid to be yourself. My goal is to help others relate to my music and maybe for just one moment help someone know that it's ok to stop pretending...even if it's for only a minute. I believe that every note tells a story.

I've also been writing a lot more music these days! If you haven't checked out my reverbnatio
I just recently turned 24 on Sept. 21st, 2010!!! Woot woot! Haha this birthday was a pretty cool one as well. I have done a lot of soul searching and decided that being a singer/songwriter is my main passion in life, so this birthday I decided to put my very first show together of all original music and just two covers. It was a great way to start another year of being twenty four! I loved being able to share A LOT of new material and sort of experiment with it a bit....in other words...the perfect birthday! I shall be posting some photos and videos soon from the bday extravaganza!
Also, on Sept. 4th of this month, two of my good friends Janie and Chuckie were married!!! I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of that beautiful ceremony and celebration. I have been friends with Janie practically since my first year of college and we have been through somuch together. It only felt right for me to write them a wedding song of course!!! It will be posted soon I promise! Here are a couple pictures from the wedding....
Singing "Janie's Song" 9/4/2010
Look at how goregous this pic is!!! This was taken while I was singing to them! I feel honored to have such amazing people in my life...look at how beautiful of a couple they are....I still can't get over how amazing this wedding weekend was. I was even able to meet some amazing people through them that I hope to continue having in my life.
Now......ladies and gentlemen...haha get ready for plenty of shows and announcements coming up because I am going to be letting you in on information for new projects, collaborations, shows, recordings, videos, promotions, and much much more!!! I want to keep my friends and fans updated, so I figured a blog was the best way to do it!
That's all for now, but stay tuned for more updates!!!
